			How we choose character names on Dr. Wonder's Workshop Friday, February 05, 2010 We get lots of questions about Dr. Wonder's Workshop. Here's one we've received recently. "How did you choose the character names?" Well, long before the cast was selected, we created the main characters for the series, and we named most of them for key prayer and financial supporters of Silent Blessings. For example, the characters "Billy Cameron" and "Paula" were named for a dear couple in Bloomington, Indiana who have been supporters of this ministry for many years. In fact, Paula and I were high school camping buddies at Camp Challenge. And "Dr. Wonder's" first name of "Leward" first belonged to Leward Smith (he goes by Lee). He and his wife have also been long time supporters and prayer warriors of this ministry. So when we were trying to come up with names for the characters in our series, we thought this would be a great way to honor them and their investments in the spiritual development of Deaf kids.
